Suania

Suania Sárraga was born and raised among green mountains and rainy days in a small town called Lares, Puerto Rico. After she graduated from high school she moved to the capitol, San Juan, to start college in the University of Puerto Rico, where she completed her Bachelor’s in Education with a concentration in Biology. In 2008 Suania moved to Dallas to learn a second language and pursue an educational career.

She started working as a lead PK teacher in a Spanish Immersion School. She was transformed as an educator when she began to implement the Project-Based Learning model into her PK4 classes. In the past 5 years, Suania has had extensive training throughout the US on Project-Based Learning (PBL) and how to effectively train teachers on its implementation. She has presented Preschool PBL at important conferences across the country, like La Cosecha and NABE. She continues to develop professionally and will start her Master’s Degree in 2017. Now she is proud to be part of Mi Casita in Fort Worth.

Suania lives in Dallas with her husband, Israel, and two beautiful step-children. She has a special passion for kids and education, and loves to help others. In her free time, Suania enjoys reading, biking by the lake on a perfect fall day, and the cold temperatures of winter with a delicious Puerto Rican Coffee.
