Yoana was born in the month of love, February, in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She grew up there in a very united and loving Christian family.
From a young age she liked to sing, dance and help people. She has a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Through hard work and dedication she also received Summa Cum Laude honors.
In 2011, she moved to Madrid, Spain, to pursue a Master’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology. Soon after, she returned to the Dominican Republic to not only pursue a career in her field but to also serve in her community. During this time she met and fell in love with a wonderful man who she now calls her husband.
In 2016, shortly after marrying her husband, she moved to Philadelphia to start a new life with him.
Due to the certain laws regarding education here, she has not been able to validate her career. However, this has not stopped her love and passion for working with children.
She has been working at Mi Casita since the summer of 2016 and since day one she has felt very welcomed and happy to be part of the Mi Casita family. She enjoys investing her time and effort so that more and more people in the world learn to speak, read and write her native language, Spanish!
