Itzamar López was born on an island full of wonders and joy: Puerto Rico. She left her country for the first time to live in the state of Texas, three years ago. She came to Texas looking for a better quality of life for herself and her family, as well as taking advantage of the opportunity to improve her English as a second language. Although every day she misses her family and beautiful sunsets on the beaches of her island, she is grateful for the new opportunities, friends and students she has encountered during her stay in Texas.
Itzamar finished her bachelor’s degree in pre-school education at the Ana G. Méndez Metropolitan University of Puerto Rico (UMET). From a young age she discovered her passion for education, but above all, she understood the special meaning that children represented in her life. She knew from an early age that her mission in life was to be a guide for children. She understands that she is the most blessed person by spending her days surrounded by the joy and sincere love that only a child can give.
Before beginning her work as a preschool teacher in Texas, Itzamar worked as a teacher for 8 years in the Head Start program of the city of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Itzamar is now a teacher at Mi Casita Preschool where she feels very happy and blessed to be able to share her knowledge with the children of this institution.
Itzamar lives in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area with her husband and two children. Her favorite pastime is to accompany her kids to their baseball games throughout the country. In addition, she enjoys spending time with her family drinking coffee, making typical Puerto Rican meals and doing road trips around the State that she calls her new home.
